Dr. Phillips's Classes for 1-14-13 to 1-18-13



Rhetoric II
This week in Rhetoric II, students will continue presentations of their first thesis drafts.  Each senior will present their research and will be questioned by both Dr. Phillips and their classmates.

Antiquities
In Antiquities, we will continue our examination of the Greek city-states, particularly a comparison of Sparta and Athens

Students will continue their assigned readings by the schedule below.
·         Tuesday – Famous Men of Ancient Rome, pgs. 15-25
·         Thursday – Famous Men, pgs. 26-41

U.S. History
The U.S History class will continue discussing the Constitution of the United States, walking through each Article to examine the responsibilities of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government.  We will move to the Bill of Rights near the end of the week.

Students will continue their assigned readings by the schedule below.
·         Tuesday – Patriot’s Handbook, pgs. 279-289    
·         Thursday – Patriot’s Handbook, pgs. 290-299

Christendom
In Christendom, we will discuss the changes in the Late Middle Ages, then begin our study of the Crusades.

Students will continue their assigned readings by the schedule below.
·         Tuesday – King Arthur, pgs. 125-162 
·         Thursday – King Arthur, pgs. 163-190

Latin II
We will continue our study of chapter 9, completing the translation exercises and stories.
