Dr. Phillips's Classes - 2/27/12 to 3/2/12


Rhetoric II

The Rhetoric II class will complete their thesis drafts and begin presenting them to the class, for examination and questioning.

Students will turn in their first thesis drafts (5 pages) on March 1st.

Antiquities

In Antiquities, we will begin our study of the Romans, starting with the legends of its founding – Aeneas and Romulus and Remus. Students will continue reading Julius Caesar by the schedule below.

· Tuesday – Caesar, Act III.2

· Thursday Caesar, Act III.3-IV.2

Modernity

The Modernity class will continue discussing the causes, major events, and people of World War I. The next test will be scheduled for Wednesday, February 29th.

Students will continue their reading by the schedule below.

· Monday – Animal Farm, pgs. 54-72

· Wednesday – Animal Farm, pgs. 73-97

Christendom

The Christendom class will continue discussion of the Hundred Years’ War between Britain and France – major events and people. The next test will be scheduled for Wednesday, February 29th.

Students will continue reading by the schedule below.

· Monday – Henry V, Cast-Act II.1-2

· Wednesday – Henry V, Act II.3-III.2

U.S. History

In U.S. History, we will continue discussing events that led to the War Between the States. Students will continue reading by the schedule below.

· Tuesday – Up from Slavery, chap. 9-11

· Thursday – Up from Slavery, chap. 12-14
