Rhetoric II
The Rhetoric II class will complete our impromptu debates. We will also begin a review of informal fallacies and discuss how to avoid them in speeches and writing.
Students will turn in bibliography cards on February 8th.
Antiquities
In Antiquities, we will continue examining the major events in the Persian-Greek Wars. Students will continue their reading by the schedule below.
· Tuesday – Famous Men, pgs. 42-57
· Thursday – Famous Men, pgs. 58-84
Modernity
The Modernity class will conclude the Romantic Movement and move on to the modern changes in government – fall of monarchies and the rise of executive power in the U.S.
Students will continue their reading by the schedule below.
· Monday – Man Who Was Thursday, chap. 3-4
· Wednesday – Man Who Was Thursday, chap. 5-7
Christendom
The Christendom class will complete the Crusades and their results. We will then move on to the other developments in the high Middle Ages. If time permits, we will begin studying events in the late Middle Ages, particularly the writing of the Magna Carta.
Students will continue reading The Story of King Arthur and His Knights by the schedule below.

U.S. History
In U.S. History, we will move on to the War of 1812 (major events, people, causes) and the Panic of 1819. Students will read from The Patriot’s Handbook by the schedule below.
