Dr. Phillips's Classes - 12/5/11 to 12/9/11

Apologetics & Worldviews for 12-5-11 to 12-9-11

We will continue working through our list of ethical issues, focusing this week on the relationship of ethics and law. We will try to complete our section on sexual ethics as well (particularly issues of genetic engineering, surrogacy, birth control).

Students will have a test this week, on Monday, December 5th (rescheduled from last week).

Antiquities for 12-5-11 to 12-9-11

In Antiquities, we will move into our discussion of early Greek city-states.

There will be a test next week on December 13th, and students will continue reading from the schedule below.

Modernity for 12-5-11 to 12-9-11

The Modernity class will move on to discuss the Revolution of 1848.

Students will complete their timeline presentations and will continue reading The Social Contract by the schedule below.

· Monday – Social Contract, pgs. 25-47

· Wednesday – Social Contract, pgs. 47-76

Christendom for 12-5-11 to 12-9-11

The Christendom class will complete timeline presentations and will begin discussions of the development of Europe during the Middle Ages. We will also do some class reading of Macbeth.

Students will have a test on December 13th. They will read Macbeth by the schedule below.

U.S. History for 12-5-11 to 12-9-11

In U.S. History, we will begin reading and discussing the Constitution and the early days of its formation.

Students will complete timeline presentations and will have a test on December 13th. They will continue reading by the schedule below.

· Tuesday – Patriot’s Handbook, pgs. 186-198

· Thursday – Patriot’s Handbook, pgs. 197-206
