Apologetics & Worldviews for 10-24-11 to 10-28-11

In Apologetics & Worldviews, we will finish studying and evaluating various worldviews and ideologies, ending with hedonism. We will then move into our study of ethics, defining major terms and beginning to address specific ethical issues. We will begin with “life and death” issues, such as abortion and capital punishment.


Antiquities for 10-24-11 to 10-28-11

The Antiquities class will begin our overview of the Egyptians – major events, timeline, people, and beliefs.

Students will continue reading The Oresteia by the schedule below. The first project of the semester will be on October 25th.

Christendom for 10-24-11 to 10-28-11

In Christendom class, we will discuss the fall of the Carolingian Empire and the beginnings of feudalism in Europe.

Students will begin reading The White Horse King by the schedule below and will begin The History of the Kings of Britain late in the week. The first project of the semester will be on October 26th.

US History for 10-24-11 to 10-28-11

In U.S. History, we study the Seven Year War and the events that created conflict between the American colonies and Britain, particularly focusing on Samuel Adams and Patrick Henry. The first project of the semester will be on October 25th.

Students will continue reading Give Me Liberty by the schedule below.

Modernity for 10-24-11 to 10-28-11

The Modernity class will complete the Industrial Revolution – major inventors and inventions – and begin the French Revolution.

Students will continue reading A Tale of Two Cities by the schedule below. The first project of the semester will be on October 26th.

· Thursday – Tale of Two Cities, book 2, chap. 9-11
