Apologetics & Worldviews for 9-26-11 to 9-30-11

In Apologetics & Worldviews, we will complete our discussion of the problem of evil and move on to evaluate specific worldviews and ideologies.

Students will complete their reading of Worldviews in Conflict on Tuesday.

Tuesday – 164-169

Antiquities for 9-26-11 to 9-30-11

The Antiquities class will move onto the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11), followed by the Fertile Crescent and the first civilizations there.

Students will continue reading The Odyssey by the schedule below.

Tuesday – Odyssey, XIII-XV

Thursday – Odyssey, XVI-XIX

Christendom for 9-26-11 to 9-30-11

The Christendom class will hit highlights of the Ecumenical Councils and the development of the Church in the early Middle Ages. Afterwards, we will begin studying the Eastern Roman or Byzantine Empire.

Students will begin reading The White Horse King by the schedule below.

Monday – chapter 1

Tuesday – chapter 2

US History for 9-26-11 to 9-30-11

In U.S. History, we will complete our discussion of the Massachusetts Bay Colony and King Philip's War, connecting it with the War for Independence as well.

Students will continue reading Give Me Liberty by the schedule below.

Tuesday – Give Me Liberty, pgs. 56-69

Thursday – Give Me Liberty, pgs. 70-85

Modernity for 9-26-11 to 9-30-11

The Modernity class will begin by covering the ideas of empire and Nationalism, an important shift in modern thinking about government.

Students will continue reading Pride & Prejudice by the schedule below.
